With experience of owning and running an art gallery since 1998, I have done a lot of photography of various types of artworks and installations. Next door to the gallery, I have a photographic studio suitable for photographing paintings, sculpture and artworks in other mediums. Shooting through picture frame glass can usually be achieved quite well in the studio.
If you are entering your work in an art award such as the Parkin Drawing Prize, Molly Morpeth Canaday, Wallace Art Award, Portage Ceramic Award, et al, submitting high quality photographs should improve your chances (or at least not detract from them, as submitting poor quality photographs definitely will). If you are an artist, you may also want a good quality photographs of artworks you have sold, for the record and your portfolio and website. Get it done while you still have the work available. If you own or manage a gallery and need photos of individual artworks for your website and catalogues, and good quality installation photos for your artists, please give me a call. If you are an art collector, you will want good quality, clear photos of your artworks for insurance records. I can also come and take interior photos of your collection hanging in your home. As this will change over time, it's nice to have a good record of it. As each job is unique, I can offer a quote once I have a clear idea of what's involved. Some artworks are relatively simple to photograph, others are complex and technically involved. The same applies to locations. The scale of the work is a factor. It also depends, to some extent, on the proposed end use of the photographs (for example; insurance record, high quality publication or large scale poster. Please contact me to discuss your artwork photography requirements. |
